The Sans Souci Bookstore is located at 219 E. Vermilion Street in downtown Lafayette.  Although the bookstore itself has been out of business since the mid 70’s, the building is still referred to as the Sans Souci Shop. It is owned by the LPTFA and rented by the Louisiana Crafts Guild.

It is one of the oldest buildings in Lafayette as it was constructed in 1847.  The building has served as a variety of functions from an inn, post office, grocery market and it housed the first newspaper in Lafayette.  But it is most well known as the Sans Souci Bookshop.
