The LPTFA provided an $875,000 grant to Lafayette Consolidated Government for the acquisition of the property for ACA in Lafayette.

In a joint cooperative endeavor agreement between the Lafayette Centre Development District, the Lafayette Public Trust Finance Authority and the Lafayette Consolidated Government, the LPTFA provided the funding for the purchase of the former LBA property located at the corner of Vermillion and Jefferson street in Downtown Lafayette.  The LPTFA’s financial assistance in the acquistion of this property has helped the Lafayette Centre Development District achieve one of the main goals of their master plan, to create Multi-Arts Center for Downtown Lafayette.

Today the Acadiana Center for the Arts sits at the former site of the LBA.  The Acadiana Center for the Arts functions as a cultural anchor for Acadiana.  The facility features the James Devin Moncus theater with seating for 300, as well as a museum quality gallery space, workshop and meeting areas.
